SURTREAT PRODUCT BRIEF —REPEL WB

J FRANK JAD

Deep Protection. Long Service Life.

Why Repel WB Matters More Than Ever

Water is the #1 driver of concrete deterioration.
Chlorides are #1 in reinforcing steel corrosion.

Surtreat Repel WB addresses both by penetrating deep into the concrete matrix to create a breathable, hydrophobic barrier that blocks water and chloride intrusion while preserving the original appearance of the structure.

 What Repel WB Is

A water-based silane/siloxane penetrating repellent engineered for long-term protection of concrete and masonry.

  • Low-VOC, environmentally friendly

  • Deep penetration for lasting performance

  • Leaves no visible residue

Perfect for owners, engineers, and contractors who need to protect concrete while maintaining natural aesthetics.

 Key Advantages

✓ Shields Concrete From Water Intrusion

Repel WB dramatically reduces the amount of liquid water that enters the substrate — stopping the root causes of freeze–thaw damage, scaling, and internal moisture cycling.

✓ Blocks Chloride Penetration

Critical for parking structures, bridges, coastal installations, and anywhere de-icing salts or seawater threaten the reinforcing steel.

✓ Breathable Protection

Allows vapor to escape from inside the concrete — preventing moisture entrapment and blistering common with film coatings.

✓ Maintains Original Appearance

No darkening, glossing, or surface film. Ideal for architectural concrete, masonry, and historic preservation projects.

✓ Low-VOC, Contractor-Friendly

Water-based formulation makes it safer, easier to apply, and compliant with strict environmental requirements.

 Where Repel WB Is Used

Infrastructure

  • Parking garages

  • Bridges and decks

  • Airport pavements

  • Highway structures exposed to salts and freeze–thaw cycles

Marine & Waterfront

  • Seawalls

  • Piers, docks, bulkheads

  • Coastal concrete subject to salt spray and tidal action

Building & Site Concrete

  • Foundations

  • Architectural concrete

  • Brick and masonry surfaces

  • Historic structures requiring invisible protection

If it needs to repel water — without changing appearance — Repel WB is often the right choice.

How It Works in the SURTREAT System

Repel WB is typically the final step in a comprehensive, science-driven preservation sequence:

  1. Clean & Prepare — Remove salts, contaminants, and surface grime.

  2. Corrosion Inhibition — TPS XII and TPS II to arrest embedded steel corrosion.

  3. Concrete Densification/Strength Restoration — TPS II and TPS XII to rebuild internal chemistry.

  4. Water Repellent SealRepel WB locks out moisture and chlorides while allowing vapor escape.

The result: a structure that lasts significantly longer — even in harsh environments.

What Repel WB Does Not Do

Setting expectations prevents misuse:

  • It does not form a surface film (great for aesthetics, not for abrasion).

  • It does not repair cracks or deteriorated concrete on its own.

  • It does not provide structural strengthening — that’s TPS II / TPS XII’s job.

Repel WB protects — it doesn’t rebuild. When paired with the right preparatory treatments, performance is exceptional.

 Practical Application Notes

  • Apply to clean, dry concrete for best penetration.

  • Use a low-pressure sprayer for uniform coverage.

  • A second coat may be recommended in high-chloride or marine environments.

  • Surfaces should be protected from rain for several hours post-application.

Contractors appreciate that it is easy to apply and doesn’t require aggressive surface preparation.

 Bottom Line

Surtreat Repel WB is the invisible armor for concrete.
It keeps water and chlorides out, lets vapor escape, maintains the natural look of the substrate, and delivers long-term durability — especially when used within the full SURTREAT system.

If your goal is life extension, corrosion prevention, and appearance preservation
Repel WB deserves a place in the specification.
